 Mercer Arboretum

Located along the Cypress River, just north of 1960 in Humble, Texas is where over 20 acres of beautiful gardens lie. Purchased in the 1940's by avid horticulturists Thelma and Charles Mercer, they sold the property to Harris County in 1974 with the stipulation that be maintained as a horticultural facility and they have done just that. The grounds feature multiple garden styles from rock gardens to the more traditional English gardens. There are long walk trails that extend well past the gardens and along the river.

The Arboretum also has all kinds of classes and events throughout the year such as Wednesdays Lunch Bunch and Children's Story Time in the Garden, plus biannual plant sales for the public.  Plant sales and events are held throughout the year and feature a wide range of local, exotic, and rare plants that are hard to find elsewhere.
